Tisha & Jay canvas the Bay Area – San Francisco engagement photography

Tisha & Jay flew in near midnight from Michigan to shoot their engagement photos and set up wedding details for next May.  They first braved a frigid, foggy pre-dawn shoot at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco to capture some of the California dawn light.  After a sojourn around the lagoon, we met again on the beaches of the East Bay to catch Sutro Tower and the San Francisco skyline in the background at sunset.  We heard the story of Jay’s asking Tisha out for the first time (after one or two false starts):  in true traditional style, their first date was a movie at the El Cerrito Speakeasy on San Pablo.

A lot of brain power here:  Tisha and Jay are both pediatricians.  But clearly more important:  these two have true model stamina.  They shot for over 5 hours on one day!  Keep your eyes peeled for their second day of indoor shooting, with a special surprise, to come soon!

Christina & Alex at the Presidio and Saint Ignatius Cathedral – San Francisco wedding photography

Christina and Alex flew in from NYC to San Francisco on Labor Day weekend to get married.  Luckily, San Francisco is wide open on Labor Day weekend because of the annually scheduled  Bay Bridge maintenance.  They started their day at the Saint Francis in Union Square.  We snapped a shot or two in the Presidio before the ceremony at Saint Ignatius, a breathtaking venue.  We all took trolleys back to the Foreign Cinema for dinner in their gallery, complete with Christina and Alex’s spontaneous dancing at points throughout the night.

Erin & Sean in Sebastopol & Santa Rosa – Sonoma wedding photography

Erin and Sean began their wedding day at the Vine Hill House in Sebastopol (where Erin prepared) and at the Flamingo Hotel in Santa Rosa (where Sean prepared).  Their nuptials were at the beautiful, newly-frescoed Saint Seraphim cathedral outside Santa Rosa.

Per tradition, Erin’s father walked her to the entrance of the cathedral, accompanied by her entourage.  Including the first prayer in the foyer, the entire ceremony was conducted in music, in the Greek Orthodox tradition.

They received family and friends in the courtyard and stopped to take in the glory of the cathedral, then moved on by cable car to the Vine Hill House in Sebastopol.
